Looking for #1

This is my 3rd year bowhunting, haven't had much of a chance to get anything other than 1 opportunity last year but i decided not to take the shot and instead study what the deer would do on the trail i was sitting on.

anyway, tomorrow is my first hunting day out and hoping to get something, but id be extra pumped to see this guy come by my ground blind or my tree stand. Would be a pretty cool first take with the bow. Wish me luck!

Good luck!

Would it ever be a great first! That's a huge bull! hope you get a chance on him! My first bow kill was a black bear, then a whitetail doe. Good luck!

Thats no good for a first now kill that's something you chase for a life time and never get. Good luck he's a big one.

I am pointing my crystals in your direction - slam dunk

nicodeemus1 09-24-2017 06:41 PM

That one is no good for a first bow kill. Just send me some gps coords and I'll take care of him for you :tongue0017:

Just kidding. That would be a sweet bull anytime. Good luck! Shoot straight

Didn't see anything this weekend other than a small bull moose this AM while in my tree stand. Hopefully I see him when I go back in a week

el sparko 09-26-2017 12:36 PM

if you've got a bull like this in your spot get the hell out of your stands and go get him!
put the wind in your face and walk! bugle every 20 minutes or so and cow call lots. he's not there for the ambiance! he's either got or wants cows! if he comes in TRY and shoot straight!

kujoseto 09-26-2017 07:53 PM

Definitely go after him. Unless he's the one I'm chasing haha. But I think the body size is bigger. He's one of those Elk you *know* when you see him.

H380 09-27-2017 07:16 AM

Nope , you dont want him .. you'd be spoiled for life with a beast like that as your first ..lol . Good luck and hope we see some pics of him in your hands . :happy0034:

The only thing with taking a big bull like that as your first is that you will probably spend the rest of your life trying to one up him. Good Luck! I hope you get him!

charves 09-27-2017 10:59 AM

Dude....wish you best of luck!
You need to get that elk!

fitzy17 09-27-2017 03:19 PM

Wiz 10-05-2017 07:42 AM

fitzy17 10-05-2017 10:13 PM

nope, haven't even seen him. only saw a couple cow elk on the cams after seeing him on there the first time

Bulldog Edm 10-05-2017 11:27 PM

Keep trying. I've only seen one cow elk while I had my bow. I'm still trying too lol

I got my first animal (other than grouse) with my bow last Saturday which was a nice bull elk - it can happen! I was cow and calf calling he came in hot to 28 yards.
