Glenmore Reservoir today (IT DOES HAVE FISH!!)

I called in sick at work and after a long nap I felt a bit better and decided to spend an hour fishing so I went down to the Glenmore Reservoir and after about an hour I hooked into a pretty little 14 inch Rainbow. Here are some pictures.

What part of the Resevoir did you fish on might I ask.

jacenbeers 04-26-2010 08:14 PM

I was fishing on the little island just north of the rowing club in North Glenmore Park.

FishingForLife 04-26-2010 08:25 PM

Those are beautiful fish. Catching em on the fly?

baitfisher83 04-26-2010 09:08 PM

Aww now I really wanna go there tomorrow..lol

Brown Trout?

That first fish looks a lot like a brown. Or am I mistaken? The halos around the dark spots seems to be a giveaway.

I was using as 3/8 Lucky Strike pink and green spoon.-

Looks like a brown to me too.

Renslipevol 04-26-2010 10:26 PM

Nice fishy! That sure looks like a Brown, though.

marlin1 04-26-2010 10:54 PM

I think it's a brown as well

uicehole 04-26-2010 10:58 PM

Good going! Nice healthy looking brown. Don't worry about the mis-ID, happens often.

baitfisher83 04-26-2010 11:05 PM

Is it just me or does the middle pic look like a bow and the top and bottom ones are browns??lol

luckyme 04-26-2010 11:07 PM

i am not going to comment more on your catch it's sure a nice one but call in sick and go fishing (i know you said you don't feel good) man i got to give you tip of my hat:wave:. (wish i could do that too:lol:)

jeprli 04-27-2010 07:03 AM

There we go, another one! Congrats on that one!

jacenbeers 04-27-2010 07:52 AM

It was for sure a rainbow. It is all the same fish. I only caught one yesterday. Some of the photos just have less light.

FishBrain 04-27-2010 11:43 AM

Awesome!!!
Hmmmm, wonder if my boss would notice me missing?

Full Curl 04-27-2010 11:47 AM

I've been looking at your pics again, and I'm sure that's a brown. There are no spots on the tail and the halos around the spots on the body, not to mention the coloring seem to say brown to me. Not wanting to argue but this one bugs me. Am I out to lunch?

gordfishing 04-27-2010 01:09 PM

my first thought was a brown too:wave::wave::wave:

If I was betting...I would have to say browns for all 3 trout. One looks more silver which is common to lake browns. Spotting pattern are indicative of browns...but rainbows can also have fewer spots in a lake. Still the halos are a dead giveaway for browns.

Still...I always driving over the causeway and see guys fishing to the south on the point. Wonder how often they catch fish...

Nicer day to be out then today also.

Fishfinder 04-27-2010 01:22 PM

I too am guilty of the "I am sick boss" phone call, only to be wrangling minutes later. Heck I think I've even called in ill from the lake:lol: Surely that's gotta be a Browny in them pics no? Seems to be quite spotty and dark for a Bow but maybe it is just the lighting? Anyways, nice fish, water looks nice n clear, wonderful fish friendly net too, I got the same one, if only I'd stop forgetting to bring it when I go out:o

100% Brown trout. Check out this one that was caught yesterday too!![ATTACH]:lol:

brianscott 04-27-2010 06:28 PM

Thats a brown 100%

No spots on the tail or top fin, I have seen a "silver brown" before, a possible genetic mutation or a missing chromisone(sp) might cause that to happen.

Definately a brown, albeit a pretty dull colored one.

jacenbeers 04-27-2010 07:03 PM

OK it is a brown.

Corro 04-28-2010 06:17 PM

This and the other Glenmore thread have gotten me excited! In 15 years I've only ever caught pike in the Res.

Fishingnutter 05-04-2010 04:19 PM

YAY,,, way to go and I beleive you were one of the first naysayers to my rez thread.

Fishingnutter 05-04-2010 11:58 PM

OK,,, I know it's nasty out there but the inlet will shelter you from the North Wind,, This cold is aggravating the fish, with little top water feed,, kinda like hitting coho as they wait out a dry spell for rain to raise the creeks. Is anyone gonna chance a few casts?
