Muskrat open water trapping

Is anyone seeing rats swimming on the swamp shorelines ?

It hasn't started to open up here yet. Has it where you are? As soon as it does I'm sure that I'll see them though.

I'm seeing water running in the creeks and the swamps are open water.
I'm pretty sure there's lots of ice but those critters might find a way to get on top of the ice.

The other day I saw where a beaver had chewed through the ice but a it's a little early for me to be targeting muskrats. I have to use float sets where I trap so I need deeper water than a few inches along the shore. It won't be long now.

Did a little driving around the other night and saw a few rats here and there as well as one beaver but it still needs a few warm days I think.
