Nordegg/Abraham Lake area

I'm taking my two boys up next weekend to this area and was curious about the wt population here lately. I realize most of the 400's around there is antlered only, but I was looking for some advise from you experts. I haven't been in that area for a few years. My opinion was that the trend was pointing in the direction of depleted numbers of all game, due to predators, and over hunting. Has this changed? Any suggestions and advise would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty lean for deer along Abraham! Also there's the road corridor sanctuary all the way to the park boundary. Might find something accross the Bighorn dam but bring a game cart, long walk from the truck past the gate on the dam to good areas. might find something in the Blackstone East of the Trunk in WMU 328?

Thank you fatboyz I will check that out. Yes, I realize the sanctuary is there on the wmu border/trunk road. Seems #'s are depleting, and the tags keep going out.

If I was just looking for a whitetail buck I wouldn’t be going that far about 20 minuets east of nordegg and south is were I’d be going :)

The biggest racked whitey I've ever seen (we found it found dead in a creek) was north and west of Nordegg.
Lots of Mulies and Whitetails around that area. Be careful as the WMU's can change real quick if you're not paying attention.

Thank you guys. Appreciate the input!

Blackstone area

Was in the Blackstone area last weekend. All we saw was does and fawns, and they were all really small at that. And very few of them. And very little sign.

But all we did was ride the truck. You might have better success by finding a key area a km or 2 off the beaten path and sitting in a key location. Also, it'll be much better when the rut kicks things up a few notches in a few weeks.

Scouting the back country out there would definitely be your friend out there.
