Moose and CWD?
Hey fellow Hunters,
Just wondering if a moose is harvested in a zone that is mandatory cwd submission for deer. Does this apply to moose at all? Can moose even carry the CWD disease? Thanks in advance. Dave. |
Few years back there was two Moose that tested positive, think it’s very rare but still capable.

It's not mandatory to turn in a moose head, but you can. As Hunter4ever said, they can be infected but so far it's a rare occurrence. Of course, if they are not testing moose, then they don't really know...?

Yes it can have CWD, and yes they will test it if you submit it. I would suggest that we should be having them tested, both from a health perspective and a management perspective.

I believe that they also do random testing on road kills etc

I have a question about turning heads in. What happens if you shoot a deer that you want to get a head mount gow does that work i would worry about not getting antlers back
