I bought a browning abolt 3 need to pick a scope.

I bought a browning abolt 3 hunter in 7mm-08. I was thinking of putting a bushnell 3500 on it. Or a leopald vx1. My last choice is a vortex crossfire. Only have around 300 to spend. What's the best choice?

elkhunter11 03-08-2017 05:51 PM

Another option is Nikon, and Prophet River is offering below cost prices on a large selection of Nikon scopes.

Nyksta 03-08-2017 05:55 PM

Vortex Viper HS 2 5-10X44 your hashlines will be 100 200 300 400 500 bang on

Slicktricker 03-08-2017 05:55 PM

Why not let your eyes choose.? I love Leopoldo have a vx2 and vx1 father is a bushel guy and I don't like them, I like Nikon monarch but not the cheaper ones

x2 ......... some very good deals on their website right now, and their customer service is second to none.

Too bad you missed out on the VX-1 sale, but as the guys said, lots of good deals on Nikons at Prophet right now. I have a VX-1 on my AB3 in .308. Works great with it.

Can't go wrong with leupold. Vx-1 is a great scope

Great prices. Make sure you are fine with the reticle on the "Active Target" model before you buy it....

The bushnell elite series is 20% off at wholesale right now, the 3500 is right around $300

FinnDawg 03-08-2017 08:16 PM

I'm a fan of Nikon. Great glass and awesome warranty. Going to pick up a pair of Monarch 7 binos soon I think!

Alberta Bigbore 03-08-2017 08:53 PM

Leupold vx1 ... try to find one with the LR reticle.....

Diesel_wiesel 03-08-2017 09:40 PM

Yep, I have a prostaff 5 I'm quite happy with. The magnification range 2.5-10 is very useful and the glass is a bargain imo. Have a look at what prophet river has - I've had good experience with them in the past.

Ice Fishing Maniac 03-08-2017 10:45 PM

A Leupold VX2 4-12x40 with LRD duplex would be a sweet one (I have on on my 243)or even the 3-9x40. Even consider the Burris scopes .

TomP 03-08-2017 11:44 PM

Scopes

As mentioned Nikons are great. Second choice would be Burris. Have a fullfield e1 and it's great

Gregg 03-19-2017 07:30 PM

I ended up buying a leupald vx1 3 by 9 by 40 from prophet river. Price was right.

curtz 03-19-2017 07:41 PM

I put the same scope on my wife's A-Bolt, great scope for the price.

astuart44 03-20-2017 11:34 AM

Do not go with the Vortex Crossfire....no where near the quality of the Nikon, Leupy or Viper. I picked up a 3-9x40 Viper for $300 and its very clear.

Look at the Burris line up of scopes.

Ldsh_tanker 03-20-2017 12:56 PM

Nikon all day!
You can get a prostaff 3-9x50 for 319.99 everyday at cabelas.
Or if you want a 3-9x40 they have them there for like 250

That is a good choice. Generally you don't put a nikon on a Browning.
