Looks like a cronimid :) those would be epic in mountain lakes!!!

A bloodworm is the stage before a chironomid, I have some chironomids posted in my fly pattern thread

and yes, fish these a foot above the bottom of the lake and you will Slay!

For sure! I actually tied some chronomids today. Oh man....20 inch cutties in high mountain lakes!!! cant wait till July!

one thing about chironomids is you can never have enough and its damn near impossible to have every color combo out there lol. im always discovering new ones

Couldn't agree with you more! I really like ice cream cones and they are very easy to tie! even the size 20.
