When fishing in Banff..
 

Where do you guys like to fish in Banff?

I mainly fly fish targeting trout so last year the river was too high when I was there so I fished johnson lake for brookies and had a ton of fun

But I'm curious what's more worth my while for trout fishing out there and the experience would it be more worth while fishing the bow river or any other stream or lakes?

I'll be going late July I hope the river is low then?

Maybe you guys/gals know of nice small creeks or streams around that are beautiful

Why not the Bow for Browns?

I'm thinking I will and johnson lake too something about that lake is magical

What I have heard is that most streams in the park are only run off streams from the mountains and hold no fish.,and the others are to shallow to hold fish in the winter because of freeze up.

I was working in banff a month ago and we had a dam in the creek. I was on night shift every time I checked on the dam at night there were hundreds of fish and every night there were anywhere from one to eight ten pound bull trout lots of smaller trout

I swear I must have talked to you. A guy told me the exact same thing when I fishing the mouth of the trib that flowed into the bow. This was in February however
