Ice Fishing Nordegg, camping this time of year?

Hey was wondering if anyone has info on what lakes are good right now for ice fishing out west alone with winter camping, tenting it, bring all the equipment, fire logs, ext.. and which lakes would be open this time of year, thank you for any information.

Is the hostel open?

You might have some fun trolling with some of those kinky German tourists.

The three trout ponds, goldeye, fish lake, jackfish all might have enough ice with plenty of spots to camp

Goldeye is usually real good this time of yr. Gap lake opened on the first, but you need a quad or sled to get in there. Haven't heard a fishing report yet. You can camp at the bighorn dam, and still fish with a rod and reel!

Is gap that far?
Looked to me like you could walk from the road.
Not sure though I was looking on google earth.

Don't want the hair gel to freeze, so go with some of those chemical heater packs and a toque eh? Oh... and if you hear banjo music, head towards the music...
