You might be gun obsessed if.....

Post your story or example!

You might be obsessed with guns if you ask the fellow in the elevator where he got that nice range bag, and comment that it would hold all my pistols just fine,
Only to have him shoot you a look of horror and say this is a diaper bag, why the heck would you put a gun in it??

The next two floors were awkward...

Snowdog 03-08-2014 05:58 PM

im a stay at home dad........my diaper bag came from Cabelas, snow camo.

Snowdog 03-08-2014 06:00 PM

IF........you spend all day on AO looking for the next post on what bill is being repealed to see what new guns you may be able to buy on your non restricted.

When you buy ammunition in calibres that you don't even own a firearm to match.

If you pay for a coffee and a donut and the total comes to $2.64 and it immediately reminds you to stop by WSS to grab some more 129gr Interbonds....

I still purchase guns that I have no use for, if the right deal comes up. I usually end up selling them to a friend.

When you buy reloading dies for a rifle/cartridge you don't own because someday you just might.

If you're just normal people.

huntinstuff 03-08-2014 06:59 PM

When you forget you own one of those

Ken07AOVette 03-08-2014 07:12 PM

When you would have been ether off buying stock in Leupold instead of putting leupold on every rifle in the safe

When your kids teacher asks if it's true that dad shot a coyote in rubber boats gym shorts and shirtless while getting child ready for school.

When you sell every gun you can but keep the family heirlooms and you still realize your gun vault is 3/4 full.

Guilty as charged!

Ebrand 03-08-2014 07:35 PM

The wife.

When the wife busted me buying dies and brass for calibers I did not have.

And forgetting that I already one ( or two ) of those.

Good thing she loves me.

Hawkeye 03-08-2014 07:41 PM

When you pick up some once fired brass at the range and THEN you go and buy dies do resize it and a gun to shoot it.

The wife says she needs to go on a vacation before I can buy another gun.

When the RCMP tries to ban a gun you don't own but you still write and send around 40 letters and email, because now you want one of those guns, when you never did before.

I was at a garage that I rent just down the block last week when the basement tenant of the place got home. We had a friendly chat and he noted that he now realized why the homeowner didn't park there, as I have it full to about 65% total volume. I noted I got some space back when I sold my gun safe. He noted he hoped no guns were transacted. As he had outed himself as an anti in that instant ( a man in his mid 50's, in a low-end basement suite no less), I had to open a plastic box of .308 Win handloads to show him. "These are hand loaded. I made them myself!" His demeanor changed from friendly banter to an uneasy twitch almost instantly. He excused himself and left rapidly when just moments earlier he had all of the time in the world :thinking-006:

I wish I had an actual firearm there to show him, but it was just empty boxes. (In hindsight, just a well marked Remington box would likely have sent him scurrying, I missed an excellent chance!)

When the wife asks "why do you have 32 rifles?"

And the answer, " because I sold one!"

I dont think I'm obsessed or anything but I did trade the misses van for a rifle. of course I did replace the van first and I think the first bear I shoot in the yard should get me some forgiveness.

When your child is born and you don't know what sex they'll be beforehand, so you wait until after they've been born to buy them a birthday rifle in a gender-appropriate calibre :D. There's time to do this while Mom's recuperating in the hospital and you've gone home for some brief shut eye after being up for 26 hours straight.

Boy: .30-06
Girl: probably would have got a 7-08
