so dam windy it turned my hat inside out, the size of the tail on that fish is huge.

Mr.twister 11-26-2011 02:59 PM

Nice!! good job and your right with the tail, its pretty big.

WayneChristie 11-26-2011 03:01 PM

theres another 4 or 5 inches of length just in the tail, but the wind was trying to rip it off

Great fish, nice pics. I saw a baldy land in a field just outside Sherwood Park just a couple days ago. Always neat to see.

Daceminnow 11-27-2011 06:15 PM

wow. great lake white wayne. with a stick and string yet, cool. 7 pounds 11 ounces. did you happen to throw a tape on it as well?

Dace

WayneChristie 11-27-2011 06:22 PM

didnt tape it no, I was just curious how heavy it was. might be the biggest Ive seen in there, but Ive seen a couple, so there might be bigger. lots of fun with a bow, going to have to get some more arrows next year and try for suckers too, I have a spot......:)

24 inches Wayne

My son took a picture with a tape measure next to the bunch we brought home and your big one was the longest at 24 inches. Next was 21!
He was going to send me copies of the pictures but the wind storm took out the internet yesterday and we were preoccupied with a few other things. I will check with him tonight to see if he can send it.
Thanks had a great time. Was looking forward to canned fish until I brought it in from the smoker and my wife says the seal is no good on the pressure cooker you will have to freeze them.

awesome, glad you got a better pic, I should have looked at mine on the camera and got another one. got some in the candy cure right now, have to rack it tonight then tomorrow into the smoker, should be pretty good!!! I hope you didnt lose too much to the wind. I forgot to ask, was that big one male or female?

wwbirds 11-28-2011 06:06 PM

Remember lots of eggs later on in the cleaning process but the big one is the first I cleaned and no eggs so I am going to guess male.

Don't think we lost anything to the wind but it was spread all over the yard and fields.
Hopper bin got banged up pretty good but will still work if I can figure out a way to get it upright again. 28 inch rebar hooked stakes for anchors driven into ground on 5 inch square frame and the wind pulled them all like nails.

WayneChristie 11-28-2011 06:13 PM

crazy, we lost some panels on one of our hay sheds, and the owners hay company on the Blood reserve lost part of a roof on one of their hay sheds, but no fires anyways. I kind of figured that big one might be a male, biggest ones Ive caught were males.
