Jasper in Nov

Gunna be taking a trip out to jasper early nov with the family. Never fished this late in jasper I know only a few places are open but curious if anyone has had any late season success. Only have one day I can escape and get out to fish so want to make the best of it. Looking for pointers to something closer as most of my spots require quite the hike in(sunwapta &athabasca above the falls) have done snaring but never this late is it still productive? Upstream of the campground?

If I’m reading the regs correctly, it looks like you have more choices on the AthB come November. I’ve only fished it above the AthB falls and only found smaller sized fish. If it were me I would focus on the bigger pools downstream of the falls.

Yeah I have done alot upstream of the falls and found big bulls but small brookies, not much below the falls. Had decent success at cn bridge on the snaring in the summer was hoping some rmwf are still poking around. Anyone ever done miette or maligne where they enter the athabasca?

Probably not going to be worth it unless by early November you mean the long weekend and the forecast smartens up by then...

I need to move somewhere that doesn't get winter half the year lol.

I have fish the Athabasca 12 months of the year

yes to the Snaring and the Maligne river where they run in

the Snaring can still have Mountain Whitefish in it the first mile

the Athabasca has some of the regular hole's that have fish

talk to Rye at Online to get local info

a walk in a few place's on the Athab will surprise most

as all ways this is

Food for thought

David:)

Perfect thanks David good to hear! Plan is to hit my usual spots around the bridge and work down the atha and hop over to maligne afterwards depending how the athabasca treats me. Also have a meeting for work in Banff for 2 days 8-10th so might get to squeeze a little time on the bow if all goes well.
