Prairie Elk

Where I seen this one, I'm not sure if he is from Suffield or Sweetgrass. A long ways from any main herd. He was running with a whitetail doe. Not sure if he was chasing her or following her. What does a 350" bull look like this time of year.

290 bull

I would gamble and say he will be a high 200" bull around 290" or so. Very saggy eyeguard, good sign of a young'un.
Cool pics. Thanks for sharing.

Then he likely is from neither Suffield nor Sweetgrass.

There are much closer established elk herds in every direction from 110....

As far as size, he is still a young raghorn, probably a 3 1/2 year old bull, maybe just two. I suspect he will be a 5x5 scoring no more than 240.

"What does a 350" bull look like this time of year."

Not like the bull in the picture.

Nice pics.

Thanks for the pics! After hunting season is over all I want is for summer to come and then wants animals start growing antlers and draw results are out, I can't wait for it to be fall. That's life with a hunting addiction I guess....:thinking-006:

I live on the southern end of 110, not that uncommon to see elk the last few years.
