GUN REGISTRATION
It has come time to start yelling again. It seems that the government had
promised us that registration of firearms would take only 15 minutes and would be a smooth and simple process. As it has turned out it has never gotten to the 15 minute mark and to make matters worse it would seem that the government now has (workless Wednesdays) every week! That’s right the good people at Miramichi have decided to go on strike. Every Wednesday they pick up their pickets and bitch about the new high paying job’s that the government made for them. All the while 3000 gun shops can not sell their product. Also all of the people in Canada that want to buy guns have to sit on their butts and dream of the items they would like to buy. Most of these gun shops are employing at least 3 people. That means that the livelihood of close to 10,000 people trying to eak out a living in the private sector is being impacted on buy a handful of persons holding well paying, guaranteed government jobs. This hardly seems fair. To make matters worse there is a rumor circulating that come the first of September there will be a total lock out. This strike comes at the busiest time in the gun industry. 60% of our business is done in this time period. These lost sales are going to represent lost jobs to people in the gun industry. It seems to me that this is just another government shot at the firearms industry. If these people are so unhappy with their jobs they should go find some other line of work and STAY THE HELL OUT OF OUR LIVES AND STOP MESSING WITH OUR WORK ! |
My lucky day
Thanks for telling us about this. I almost drove down to Calgary today to buy a new rifle. But decided not to. I am in Rocky Mtn. Hse. and if I had driven to Calgary only to find out that I couldn't buy the gun because of the folks in N.B. walking out I would have been somewhat upset.
I was out in New Brunswick this summer and we passed through Mirimichi. I was tempted to go in the "Gun Registration" office and **** in someones ear and say " there now we are even". |
Re: My lucky day
How do figure that would make you even Duffy?
Gonna buy the Encore? You'll love it. T.J. |
Gun law Bull-stuff!
Just a figure of speach and a comment born of frustration. The people that work for the "Canadian Firearms Registry" (I think thats what they are calling it) like to say "Don't get upset with me, I only work here, its nothing personal, I don't make the laws." Well I have nothing personal against them but I am just one of many gun owners that are "pi$$toff" and it is just my responcibility to them to show my feelings about it.
I was down to Calgary a couple days back and bought the Encore (you probably saw my "swoonings" on T.O.D.Gs board). I'm sure my blood pressure went up as I bent over and talked to some gal in Newbrunswick about registering my"Black Beauty". She was confirming some of the info they had on me. They only had my phone number and postal code wrong and didn't have a land location for my residence. Good hunting. |
Re: Gun law Bull-stuff!
Hey Duffy, did you have any problems with the registration as this gun has no actual calibre or barrel length? I know I tested them with my Encore a while back and they had no provisions for a gun with changable calibres and barrel lengths.
