heading out to spray lake on Saturday, anyone know the best spots to find those big old lakers?

The two most popular spots seem to be Driftwood and Sparrowhawk, although you might have some luck any where in the lake where it is 70'+. Not sure that you'll find many big ones though.

I would go to driftwood if I were you, I've been having better luck there this year than anywhere else, I've been fishing in 55-80 feet of water and having good luck with 14-17 inch lakers you won't find many bigger than that, use a yellow or chartreuse jig with a smelt head, good luck, and post results when you get back!

where is driftwood?

Just go up the road from Canmore, driftwood Isn't that far from the dam, keep going straight when you are near the dam, it is clearly marked with a sign, just keep your eyes out for the sign and you'll know when you're there, there will most likely be other people there as well, it is a boat launch in the summer time just so when you get there you know you are at the right place.

Another good lure with the Smelt Head is the Lindy Ratt'lin Flyer Spoon. I've had good luck with the shiner pattern. Had fish take it off bottom and also when jigging up the water column. 1/4 oz... used both red dyed (because thats all can tire had one day)and regular smelt heads

We always use Buzz-Bombs and have success. Just tip it with a chunk of bait.
