The best part of growing older....

..... is that spats with your spouse lasts minutes instead of hours or days. What a wonderful feeling to argue and have it over in minutes.

michaelmicallef 03-10-2018 07:33 PM

Becoming good friends with my kids. I'm more then just a dad now. They are old
Enough to make thier own choices.

Ken07AOVette 03-10-2018 08:17 PM

Having more easily accessible everything, time money hobbies, all of which get spent mostly on grandkids.

Newview01 03-10-2018 08:19 PM

I'm not even 30, and everything has gotten better already.

silverdoctor 03-10-2018 08:20 PM

And happy hour is a nap!

Twisted Canuck 03-10-2018 09:10 PM

Lots of good things, particularly seeing your kids grow into fine young adults.

Also being in a place financially where you work because you want to, and if customers don't treat you with respect you can afford to smile and walk away.

YES I totally agree with you, now days we hardly have upsets that are not resolved very quickly. By the way I've always admired your avatar. from the finest western movie of all times I've watched it at least a few times, and,,,,Hope is a powerful medicine...is an essence of life I believe, thank you.

You must not be old enough yet. You will learn not to have a spat, as you always lose. LOL

I lost the last one, my wife wrapped her arms around me and told me I was sexy when I was angry, I burst out laughing...that is my line.

NAP when ever I want.:)

Passthru 03-11-2018 08:37 AM

I like the fact that I don't have to rely on roommates anymore. I hear horror story's from the younger guys at work. Give me married with kids any day.

58thecat 03-11-2018 09:06 AM

I don't really give a s**t anymore about a lot of things, just meh and keep going.:)

This right here, and and a lot of people get their feelings hurt more often now. I call a spade a spade.

oldgutpile 03-11-2018 09:21 AM

growing older

Watching your kids become responsible adults with their own families.
And now, having been financially responsible myself, I can start enjoying all the benefits of my hard work. I am happy not being dependant on the government for my retirement.

On the flip-side, someone needs to start a thread for what sucks about getting older! Like the aches and pains we acquired along the way to get here:sHa_sarcasticlol:

How true. It is a good feeling.

thumper 03-11-2018 06:45 PM

Recognizing that being happy is more important than being right. At least when dealing with my wife!

dodger 03-11-2018 07:05 PM

Screwing up and walk away sayin “ I must be getting older”.

Dodger.

Love the posts about watching our children strike out on their own, knowing my wife and I have raised great kids, this is where we are at now and I'm happy and proud.

Biggest thing for me now, is family... sacrificed a lot of years to be financially sound in my mid forties to start enjoying it.
