Alpine Lakes to hike to and fish

Hey all just looking for some advice on a alpine lake that requires a hike to get to with trout in it. Preferably 4km and under because my dad can't go to far. Looking to go around rocky mountain house and edson area. Any suggestions?

Book a flight with the icefields helicopter service into Landslide, lake of falls,Hidden lake etc. That way your Dad only has to walk around the lake..

With that distance restriction you could give Allstones Lake a shot.

Chester Lake in Kananaskis is a good one.

You didn't say where you are at. So that makes a lot of difference as far as driving time.

I can attest that all of these produce well.

murtle lake

in Wells Grey park BC, Murtle lake is a 24km logging road drive (don't go if it's been raining!), a 1.4 km hike to the boat launch (no motors on the lake), 2 more km to the campsite and there are NO SERVICES but huge trout. there are small carts there to haul gear if you need them (thanks to the Murtle lake canoe club) great fishing but this is not where you want to take the wife and kidlets. bring industrial bug spray, LOTS. it's really worth the effort if you need to just get away.
