Rainbow Marine
Rainbow is in Edmonton and they are very good, I have been dealing with them for boats since 1999. Talk to Udo @ 455-8480. They are now located at 14240-123 Ave. If you have any other questions about their boats and models from a fishermans standpoint, send me a PM, I can help you out as well as I am a Lund Pro Staffer for Rainbow Marine, and I used to work corporately for Lund. I bought mine in Camrose (Brokers marine I beleive), and they beat Boat Mart in Red Deer by a good $2000. Exact same boat . well worth the drive for me.
|
I think Boat Mart in Red Deer does.

Boatmart dropped the Lund brand due to the volume of warranty complaints and lack of support from Lund. I tried buying a Lund at Alberta Marine in March last year ( treated like $%&t ) and the Lund factory said they were sold out of your model so you need to buy a 2008 model at a 20% markup??? How do you run out of inventory in March when that's the start of your season. Lund has also closed there Canadian operations due to the drop in there sales.
My $0.02 worth. Dodger. |
Buy a Legond boat built in Canada great boat but half the price of a Lund

I've never heard anything regarding poor Lund quality or sales, but I don't pay that much attention. However, if you run out of inventory in March, that would suggest you've sold a lot of boats. :D Waxy |

Lund closed there Canadian plant due to lower North American sales. This is the reason for being out of stock. 1/2 there normal production gone.

Lund ...aint what it used to be ......
I dont know if this is kosher but here goes . There are plenty of fishing websites state side that you can read all about the poor Lund quality
these days . PM me and I will give you a few sites . Two years ago I was in the market for a Lund so started shopping bought a Crestliner . Traded up to a bigger Crestliner last year . Sweet boats and about 5K cheaper than equivalent Lund . I have had 8 new Lunds in my life . Was a factory pro out of Manitoba. First of all the price diff. doesnt make any sense , Crest nicer finish and quieter ride ... You can get more HP on a crestliner , better displacement. The prices this year are outstanding on Crest .just got my buddy a deal on 18' for the same price as I paid last year for a 16.5' . All owned by Brunswick corp so go figure . The argument about rivets versus welds goes on forever ..W101 |

Please post some links, specific threads would be great. I've been on a lot of fishing boards and I haven't seen what you're claiming, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. Waxy |

I've been in both. You get what you pay for. I'm not concerned about quieter, I'm concerned about drier, and im my experience, Lund wins that one hands down. Quote:

lund buying difficult
My lund buying experience. No question in shopping for a lund Rainbow Marine was the cheapest in Alberta. Camrose and Llyodminster were overpriced. Lac La Biche's price was little higher than Rainbow's. I was told that service in the city is poor and that if I bought a boat elsewhere the boat wouldn't be serviced very fast.
Rainbow Marine would have been my close to home and choice place to buy, however if it wasn't for Albert at Lac la Biche I would have likely bought a princecraft. The salesmen I spoke with at Rainbow Marine knows nothing about boats. He was litterally reading me specs out of the brochure and he seemed as if he'd never been in a boat. Albert was very informative regarding both the lund and their competition. In the end I paid a little more for my boat than I could have gotten it for however Albert deserved the sale and got it. |

i have to agree 100% with dodger,i was treated like absolute crap by alberta marine and lund buying my first boat and i tell everyone i meet. i guess they thought i would never buy another boat (already ready to upgrade)or they just dont care whaen those wakeboard boats are flying off the lot.it was a long drive for months worth of hassle and the worst purchase ive made.
