Ram River

Has anyone been up to the Ram River lately? Thinking about getting some R&R up that way and taking the little lady fishing. Thinking about camping on the trunk road somewhere. Not looking for anyone's secret honey hole, just a little advise as where to start. Never fished up that way before and would really like to get out that way. Any advise is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jay

North or South Ram?

the North Fork rd from Trunk rd to where it turns away from the N Ram at the Gap has tons of camping spots, just have to find one that isn't occupied (tough on weekends but usually lots during the week to find). anywhere from the Trunk rd all the way down to the Gap and even further down to the confluence (have to hike unless you have an ATV) has tons of good water to fish. lots of pools and runs holding good sized cutties. good fishing also upstream of the Trunk rd.

South Ram same thing. there is the campground at the Falls (if still open been a few yrs since i was down that way) or along road that leads to Hummingbird Falls has camping spots, again busy on weekends. only ever fished the section between the falls and where Humming bird enters and up the Humming bird to the Onion Lake rd turnoff and once very foolishly below the falls. great fishing but took hrs to get back up the canyon walls.

lots of good fishing down that way, you won't be disapointed.

good luck
Mike
