2024 Fishing Rig
Thought I would share some photos of the new rig for this year. I decided to try a tiller this year, giving me more space to fish from and do some filming.
2024 Princecraft Hudson 190 BT w/ 90 hp Merc. 19 feet long, 91 inch beam, 95 liter tank. 44” livewell in the stern and some big storage compartments in the front. Space for 10 rods in the locker ( 6.5 ft to 8 ft length, depending on the tube). I will be rigging this with a Minn Kota Talon, the new Ulterra Quest (brushless 24/36v) and three Helix units with Mega Live and Mega 360. Galvanized tandem trailer should be great for trailering. It’s also getting the 3M film treatment and a rock guard, just like my last one. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...81d13a1bcb.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2348186e1a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e96f5f40d8.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d08b9ea4e1.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Looks good and pretty sure you will have slime on it in no time

I look forward to this thread almost like Dick284 BLIND thread. This one costs more though:)

May need to drop that troller in to get it on plane

Thats a sharp looking boat! Well done!!

A tiller is the only way to go!!

90 hp is the max rated hp for this model. The boat is only 1348 lbs so I do not expect any issues getting into the 40 mph range with it. While it won’t be as fast as the last windshield boats I’ve had that have 250 horse motors (57 mph), it also won’t be as thirsty. That’s going to be valuable for the trips I plan to do this year where range will be more important than speed. Additional bonuses are less fuel costs overall and a far lower initial purchase price (roughly half) than the models I have run the past 6 years. We all know that boat prices have gone up a lot in the last few years. Add in higher interest rates and it’s even tougher for guys to consider new boats. I decided to run a model that is more accessible to most fishermen (price wise) while still providing all the fishing features of the big boats. Big livewell, large rod locker, lots of storage, etc. SS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Nice looking boat.
I downsized a few yrs back to a 14 tiller. Took me some time to get used to loading. Always had a steering wheel so i was always coming up short of the winch post every time. Finally got it right so that was the only issue in 4 yrs now. |
Looks wet and cold...but Im sure it will see more slime in a season than mine does in a decade...looking forward to seeing how you outfit this thing.

Great boat! If I could only have one boat it would be a 18ft tiller with a 90HP outboard...or a Kingfisher 3025 GFX. :bad_boys_20:

Now you gotta work on getting a tiller belly to complete the package:)
Beauty boat! |
Got the 8 foot talon mounted as well as a Helix 8 MSI and Helix 12 MSI on the helm.
And before anyone points it out, I know the ladder won’t work with the Talon where it is. I already had a Starboard side bracket to accommodate a kicker motor and didn’t want to spend more for a port bracket too. I don’t plan to use the ladder anyway. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a67c675ea5.jpg SS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I prefer a tiller too. It makes it much easier to watch your trolling rods!

Boat is all rigged out and just loaded it with gear. It’s always interesting trying to get to sort out the best places for everything in a different boat. Looks like I have room to spare in this rig.

Helix 8 MSI in the bow as well with everything networked and talking to each other. I can see Mega Live on all three units, share waypoints, control my Talon, and control the Ulterra from any of the three Helix units. Plan to hit the open water with it in Sask next weekend and just booked a couple weeks off for a trip to NWT this June. SS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Very nice boat and definitely expertly rigged.
I really like that "before and after" shot of all the gear on the deck and then nicely tucked away in storage. I'm gonna have to steal that idea! |

Nice rig. Quite a step down in power for you but definitely an upgrade in space. Did you trade last years rig in or sell it outright?
|
Yeah, there is a bit of difference in power but I get a lot more range with the smaller engine. I am planning some bigger trips to remote areas, so range and fuel economy is an important component.
Last years rig went back to the dealer in the fall of 2023. It’s an amazing boat, but I am doing g some product development work with Princecraft and wanted to run a different model myself to be able to provide better input on some potential tweaks and features to add. I got the new rig out on the water in southern Sask today. Still breaking in the motor, but top speed with a full load (gas, gear, and three adults) is about 36 mph on GPS. Ran around the lake for a couple hours and fuel gauge is still reading full, so that is promising. Managed to slime the boat too. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...842aa02e6.jpeg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Looks like the boat is going to work fine. Beauty little girl out for a breath of May air:) Well done, fine Sir!!

Here's my 2024 Fishing Rig. Lots of hours have gone into getting it rigged and ready to go, and it's going to take a few more yet LOL.
2024 Warrior V208 with the new Mercury 350HP V10, 15HP Pro Kicker, and MinnKota 36V Ulterra Quest and Vantage (a collector's item now:cry:). I love the interior layout and storage capacity of the Warrior boats, the fit and finish is incredible, and once you experience the ride quality, it's pretty much impossible to go back to anything else. I'm with SamSteele on the rockguard, a Trailer Tux is always the first thing I add to any boat. The electronics are all Lowrance and fully networked. HDS Pro units at the console, bow, and the rear corner, two Active Target 2 units linked together to eliminate interference, one mounted on the Vantage, the other one on a pole in the bow, HD 3in1 transducer, Airmar TM165HW and TM150M transducers, HDI skimmer for high speed, and a legacy LiveSight transducer. Everything is connected by NMEA2000 as well so I can connect the critical Point 1 GPS antennae and to the Mercury Vesselview data. Big shout out to Alberta Lithium, their batteries are impressive, and the cost and service you get are pretty much impossible to beat. I've got three 100Ah's for my trolling motor batteries, and two of the 150Ah starting battery capable units for my main starting battery and house battery that runs all the electronics. They're heated and fully Bluetooth capable, which is a really nice feature to have. Two other bigger ticket items I always add that I think are sometimes overlooked or misunderstood - trim tabs and a jackplate. Power trim tabs are not a bandaid for poor performance, they're an amazing tool for boat control, and I'd hate to be without them. The power jackplate (mine is a PowrTran Impluse Voltix that is fully electric, so no hydraulics to worry about) should be standard equipment on all boats. It's not about the 1-2mph you might gain at full throttle, it's about having the most efficient setup at all speeds, and being able to maximize handling in all conditions. The countdown is on to having a couple weeks off in August and getting some more hours on it! http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/attac...1&d=1721153493 |
Wow in fact huge WOW factor!
Enjoy the new boat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
damn, these all new electronics makes it look too complicated to operate for my brain. I would need a week long tutorial to learn all of it.
