22 I’d like to get
 

22 with no sights. Barrel 20” or less. Drilled atnd tapped. Or with weaver full size groove. Tube feed. Bolt action
Maybe wood stock too

Can you live with a 22" barrel? If so, take a look at the Marlin XT-22TR blued, or the XT-22TSR stainless. Tube feed, bolt action with integral 3/8" dovetail as well as drilled and tapped for mounting regular bases.
Regarding the 3/8" dovetail: we've been running Burris steel bases on the Marlin Model 60's for years with success. IME avoid the aluminum bases for 3/8" dovetail, they slip.
In the used market: Cooey and Winchester both made tube feed bolt action rifles. I don't know if they were factory drilled and tapped or with 3/8" dovetails?

I was looking at the Marlin XT-22TR. And it’s the closest I could find I see they go for about $300 can.

I find clips too hard to load ammo into. Semis won’t cycle low power. The bases move on the 3/8 dovetail. The sights get in the way of a scope. A long barrel drags in the dirt.

I just bought one of those and ordered a pro varmint stock for it. Can’t wait to try it out, I hear they’re fairly accurate.

Find a browning a-bolt medallion 22. They are very accurate and come in a 22lr 0r a 22 magnum

Tube fed 22s are a pain to load and unload. I have an old 22" tube fed Remington 341P that sits unused in preference to my 10-22s.

There are few systems out there to help out with loading clips. I was going to recommend a CZ 455 Varmint, trouble is they have magazines and no mag loaders that I know of.
Cooey 60 or 600 would fit the bill.
