Free Fishing weekend?
 

I have heard that this weekend is a free weekend for fishing. Is this true? Are there any regulations as to who can fish for free? I've got a couple of buddies from south of the 49th who are here visiting and would like to come out with me this weekend, but not sure if it will cost them or if the free weekend (if it exists) counts for them too.

Here's the quote from the Fishing Regs:
"FREE Fishing Weekends July 7-8, 2007 & February 16-18, 2008
To encourage folks to give fishing a try, any person may fish without an Alberta Sportfishing Licence on these dates but they must follow all other rules and regulations as outlined in this guide. These weekends coincide with Canada’s National Fishing Week and Alberta Family Day."

Thanks Don. I appreciate the information. I guess if I read the regs more often I might know that information!
