Haven't been there in years but you could drive right on from the old provincial camp site on the south side. The north side was a scout camp and had a gate before the lake. I spent alot of my youth at that lake. Bring red meal worms and a small rear drop. Good luck

For the size of the lake, Engstrom is heavily stocked each year.

2017-50,861 rainbows put in with lengths ranging from 15.2-21.7 cm
2018-35161 rainbows put in with lengths ranging from 7.0-19.5.

It winterkills some years, but I think it's been a few years since the last one.

Haven't been there since before Christmas fishing was a bit slow but the ones we did catch were some of the biggest we have ever caught. There was a bunch of overflow but I'd say everyone is driving on it now. Fished Grist last weekend had around 18" of ice so id Say Engstrom is defiantly safe to drive on.

Also wanted to ask you guys, is it a good spot to fish in the summer as well? I am new to this and my son loves fishing and boats, maybe buy a cheap canoe and make it a day trip, what do you guys think??
