Edmonton wants to ban sales of pocket knives
https://globalnews.ca/news/10401448/...-store-knives/
Hilarious. Someone ask the UK how well their knife bans work!! |
If the woke had their way, nobody would carry a leatherman or a pocket knife. I am surprised they don't call for registering kitchen knives.
|
I think it’s great.
Now to start a company called green eco slicers… make a Swiss Army knife green. Put a solar cell on the side and a led light. Donate $1 to save the whales and a $1 to support radical leftists. Write “diversity” on the other side. Use rainbow metal for the blades. Diversity video of people whittling carrots for a vegan salad. Fast forward a year and I’m a millionaire. |
On TV last night a women went into the store and when she came out she said she purchased two “weapons” not knives but weapons. So I guess I've been carrying a weapon since I was about 5 or 6 years old.
I sorta understand the concerns because of the area they live in. I owned a rental home over there once. But when the woke folk get ahold of this they gonna run with it. Hide your silverware. |

If they succeed, people will then go to the grocery store or Walmart and grab a butcher knife……instead of 4” pokes people will be getting 10”+ pokes from butcher knives and you’ll see a higher ratio of fatal stabbings.
|
I feel that title is a bit misleading as I don't think this has anything to do with the city....

A woman who was interviewed by CHED claimed she could buy a switchblade at one of the local gas stations. If that's true, I'd go buy one myself.

If one community group can get it kicked off you'll see Sohi go full speed ahead. Next thing you know you guys in Edmonton will be using blunt knives like the UK. |

Bans are ludicrous. On the other hand I was working two weeks ago with a young man, and his brother was stabbed to death in Edmonton. Seeing that kind of anguish in a person is indeed sobering. I cant believe what he's going through, a young man just into his 20's and he's lost a brother the same age.
Should knives be banned? Probably not, should "pig stickers" be carried around in the city probably not that either. Banning them wouldn't work because anyone can make a weapon out of anything. |
Seriously?
Its bad enough someone would even think that way but worse they give her coverage. I cant believe this would even be news. I hope she doesn't go into Cabelas or Bass Pro and see all the "weapons" Those crappy knives in the picture look like they would break the first time you used them. |
Soon they will want to ban carbonated drinks. One for the carbon, two for the gas, three for projectile that hits them in the azz.
:) |
Perhaps they could re-visit the ban they put on police for doing profile checks. Radom stops of suspicious folks.
Opps cannot do that --- hurt feelings reports would be filed. |
They only want to ban the scary looking knives not the harmless steak knives snowflake logic
|
It's Edmonton, what did everbody expect?

You seriously can NOT fix stupid. Ban golf clubs. Hammers. Pipe wrenches. Cutlery. Glass dishware. High heeled shoes. For the love of all things holy, people are stabbed in prison. Do they sell knives in there?

Nothing socialists like more than making laws. I listened to them interviewing the two half wits. Folks love their big brother.

The one moron says that Edmonton can’t ban knives, as that is federal jurisdiction; but the municipality can prevent retailers from selling certain items just like firearms. Funny thing is, there are retailers selling firearms in Edmonton. I am pretty sure P&D is legit and not a “back alley” operation.
How are people so ignorant not mocked by the media. That idiot should have been belittled in the interview and be made to look as stupid as he is. |
The only law they need to come out with is a law that requires you to define “weapon” any time you use it in a story. And what exactly is the difference between a “weapon” and a “dangerous weapon”. Drives me nuts when I see those terms thrown around everywhere - in our company policies too. Maybe if they had to define it, they’d think a little about what it actually means. Or at least get mocked more for applying it to everything dumb they do. Good thing they’re using computers to write all these stories - that pen sure had a pointy end….
