Forgetting if you are pro or con for pot I have been watching these commercials
on the tube showing edible pot.
To me it looks like an accident looking for a place to happen. How long before some three or four year old gets into someones edible pot.
Looking at the commercials it looks pretty good. If it looks pretty good to an old man just think how good it will look to a elementary school student. Yup bring dads chocolates to school and pass them out.
I give you that most people buying edible pot might be more careful but I have watched too many little kids so I am alarmed with this type of pot.

I don’t think this will be nearly the issue you suspect it is. Edibles have been legal in those US states that legalized pot for ages and their children seem to be fine.

I used to donate to High Times magazine in the 70s to legalize marijuana, since it's been legal I still haven't been in a store when are the Edibles about to become legal.

Edibles are where most of the hospital visit overdoses are coming from.

Well if one is to have edibles in their home with kids they need be responsible parents/guardians or what have you for the security of said edibles.
If children have access to edibles then then there is a problem.

I'd say prescription drugs are easier to get at than Edibles would be, probably more overdoses also

Any responsible person should go out of their way to keep these out of reach of kids and others, just like any other prescription drug, firearms, etc. Too bad commons sense isn't all that common any more.

It's pretty much just common sense a person eats a gummy wait 10 min ... Nothing ... Takes another one Waits ... nothing...Takes another one ... About an hour or so later the person is tasting time .

Though for the vast majority they will just get uncomfortably high and unlike doing way too many shots way too fast your not likely to spend time vomiting (pro tip 1$ tequila shots are bad news don’t ask me how I know 😊 ) But if you are the sort to get a side effect like paranoia spending a number of hours cranked up like that will be unpleasant.

The lag time is probably the biggest risk factor(at least for commercial and for homemade add unknown and variable dosing), how long before we hear of someone eating a jelly or two then drive since they feel fine and then have it kick in while they are behind the wheel and they kill someone.

Doubt prescription drugs taste that good or look like candies. Hard for a child to tell the difference between a regular candy and a pot candy. Hopefully people are smart enough to try and make them look like something a kid wouldn't like and keep them put away.

So maybe people are getting educated.

Directions are too bloody easy.
Eat a little bit. Wait 1 hour
Not the effect you want eat a little more.
Repeat cycle if necessary until desired effects are reached.
It’s easier for the body to metabolize a bit every hour than all at once.

Either way. The kids/teenagers will always do as kids/teenagers do IMO.

They should make them look like vegetables or something not so tempting like the skull on a poison bottle or why not like pills.

Nothing like experiencing green hell. Ohh to be a teenager again lol.

I just got back from Vegas. The smell of pot is every where and makes my stomach turn over. It's gross, it's disgusting and I along with everyone else thinks its just plain stupid. Fix this smell problem if you have too have your "High". The smell of that **** will kill this idea more than any thing. I hope this edible part will take care of some of the issues.

Been making my own for the last year when online sales stopped due to legalization. I only do them after supper when I know I won't be going out. Sleep like a baby all night long and pain free.

I’m a responsible parent, by not drinking, smoking, or doing drugs. I could never understand the mentality of do what I say, not what I do.

Nobody has re-invented the wheel here.

Edibles like this have been for sale in Canada for years and the most computer illiterate prude, could figure out where and how to order them in under 15 min.

Likely a lot stronger and cheaper than what the government will sell too.

Reminds me of a trip to Calgary a couple buddies and I took for a presentation in business school. An hour before we left, a buddy hands me a cookie, tells me it has a lil extra in it. All I remember is we got stuck in traffic on Calgary trail and I lost feeling in my tongue. Rest of the drive was a blur in the back seat. Good times lol.

Was a story on Global news this morning ...as today makes one year of legal pot, and the start of legal edibles.

They had an " expert " on to talk about all this, and one of the things he said, was that it's expected that edibles, drinks, and baking goods should likely take over about 90% of the market, as the smell of smoking pot is basically not overly sociably acceptable.

And as such , expects consumption to more or less go up by 70%

So hopefully now , when I open the door to let the dogs out, and it smells like there is a skunk , it's actually a skunk , and I keep the dogs in.:thinking-006:

I think it’s a reasonable concern, but the parents need to make sure it’s not available to kids. Just like parents with brownies in their freezers right now need to make sure their kids are old enough to know not to eat them.

Qualifying as a responsible parent involves much more that being a sanctimonious, holier-than-thou teetotaler.

Implying that a person is a hypocrite and irresponsible parent if they have a social beer or two with friends, or glass of wine with their wife, and at the same time tells their kid not to drink until they're a)mature enough to make their own decisions, and b)of legal age, is a load of crap.

Some folks are more cut and dry than others...
