30 grains of IMR 3031

For both .30-30 Winchester and .303 Savage

Was 3031, then went to H414, dabbled in 4895, currently using Varget. Also have some Leverevolution waiting in the wings. That’s for jacketed bullets.

Recently I’ve been running a bunch of cast gas checked slugs with 4227, and am only 125 fps behind the jacketed stuff.

So far what I’ve observed is run what ya got on hand, there is but a pittance of difference between the ones I’ve tried.

I have some 3031 on hand as well as 4895. Found some load data for Norma 200 which I have. Has any one ever tried this powder ?

160g Hornady FTX
Leverevolution 36g

150 hornady interlock fn
31g imr3031

28g norma 200 with 170g hornady interlock fn

The list goes on

I have lots of options, but 3031 has always worked well for me with a 170 grain bullet:)
