Bow River in Calgary

Hey guys, I have a wedding to go to in Calgary this weekend and was wondering if their are any places to go fishing around spruce meadows which I believe is in south calgary. I have never fished anywhere around calgary before. Will be using a fly rod if that makes any difference. Thanks for any advice.

Head straight east on the 22x from Spruce Meadows and you will hit the bow and both north and south of the 22x bridge going over the bow is good fishing.

i was at policemans on sat and did well using small bead heads. I dont know directions but if you call fishtales in calgary they should point you in the right direction

Well tried downstream of the 22x bridge on sunday. What a nice day. Only managed to get out for a couple of hours but it was enough time to get a nice sunburn and fight with a couple of fish. In total had about 4-5 on but only landed one. A 18 inch brown, a first for me. Thanks again for the info on where to go.

I tried a leech imitation for awhile with no luck. Then I switched to a blood worm with something like a copper john as a dropper. Found out that rig is harder to cast as I had some wicked tangles. Was using a strike indicator also which made for even better tangles. The fish all grabbed on the dropper hook.
