Bow speed

I've been watching and enjoying Luxors " Show ur bow " thread " and have wondered what guys are getting for speed out of their setups . I know it's all about shot placement ,lol , but some of these look like real speed demons , care to share with us ? Add your arrows, broadheads and kinetic energy as well if you like ,thanx.

Bow speed

PSE Vendetta I Franken built with Mini Evo cams

62 lbs
True 28" draw
395 grains
Loop and Peep

285 fps

And that's 34" a2a 6 7/8" bh

Puts IBO at 340 fps

Twisted Canuck 08-23-2014 11:59 PM

I have a Hoyt CRX32, 28.5" DL, 67 lbs DW, shooting Easton Axis 340s with 100 gr fieldpoint or Montec, total 380 gr. Chrony is right around 300 fps, + or - a couple. I have Winners Choice strings, had really good luck with those, using an QAD Ultra Rest Pro series drop away rest. G5 peep on string, other than that it is clean. Not the fastest out there, but after a while the only difference is how far in the ground your arrow sticks on the other side of the animal....:) I find it more than satisfactory.

Hoyt Spyder Turbo 81#, 29", 498gr Maxima Hunter 450, World Best Strings. 313-316 fps depends on chrono.
Most important stat for me is kinetic energy
109 ft-lbs = Smack!!!

That's wicked energy, shooting that heavy arrow at that speed! I'm getting all of 76 ft-lbs....but then again, I'm not drawing 81 lbs either.

What model of Bowtech. Even with that TAW that seem too fast. Are you having planning issues with the arrows.

No plaining issues at all. It shoots bullet holes in paper and shoot fixed broad heads like field points.
