I call BS on this stuff. Waste money on it if you want, but I would recommend a few months of practice with a trained shooting instructor, if you do indeed have money to spend and the dignity to improve your shooting.
If your birds aren't taking a dirt-nap when you pull the trigger, I would reason that A) you missed or B) your pattern sucked, sooner than I would blame the 'cheapo ammo'.
