My thinking is that a snare is a one time use item while an extension with a swivel could be re-used numerous times. Wouldn't going with a shorter snare with an extension cost less in the long run?
I'm just snaring coyote/fox so snaring wolves might be a whole different ballgame and there's a legitimate reason, other than the noose size, that I don't know about for wanting a longer snare.
