Also there is no need to float it. Most of the fish are in deeper holes and not spread out like they are in the summer. If you find one fish there are usually more there. If you know the river find a deep pool and dredge it with nymphs and heavy streamers.. Its dangerous enough wading and walking the bow in the winter.
