I bought some NF caps that I put on the NXS on my 300 win mag, I thought I had the eye relief set pretty good and never had a problem till I put these NF caps on. Shooting off the bench this fall I had a little blood running from my forhead and then when I shot my mule deer this fall off the bipod my snout got it. I didn’t bleed quite as much as my mule buck though

I believe the threads rotate within the housing so you should be able to keep the cover oriented correctly. Maybe there is some grit preventing the relative movement?
*Clarification edit: I'm referring to the Alumina caps that Positrac and Smokinyotes were talking about*
