Honing barrels ..
.. a relatively new procedure in modern barrel making. It seems to be an older technology, now being incorporated by modern barrel makers.. not to be confused with lapping. How it relates to cut or button rifling, I'm not sure but likely to both methods.
Whether all the major manufacturers are all using this procedure now, or just a few, remains a bit of a mystery. Anybody know for sure ?
