The farms won't be shut down due to the government lobbying the farms did to be able to operate. They operate right in front of the salmon streams if you can imagine. Use google earth and zoom in to the stream entries around Tofino. It is sad. The fish farms have a bloom of sea lice and it kills the salmon smolts as they come out of the stream. Some dead salmon smolts have 15 sea lice stuck to them. Don't get me started.
