A few States to the south tried Sichuan birds with the hopes they could manage with the weather of north central North America. The thought being they were from a region in China that more resembled their local. It didn’t turnout great from what I heard.

They looked pretty much like a Ringneck, without the ring.

I know nothing about Melanistics.

I would take two Huns from two good shots over a Melanistic pheasant every time.
