Now back to the OP’s question. After thinking about this, I would suggest you wait for a custom to come up. It may take patience, but in many cases, guys who build a custom are tinkerers by nature and eventually get bored. Sometimes they also have the means that taking a loss on a rifle to build another one is just part and parcel of the game they have chosen to play.
I have seen wonderful guns that far exceed the quality you will get in an off the shelf gun. Canadian Gun Nutz is your friend. Also search out custom rifles on AO and yu will find the names of regulars who will be happy to give you their opinion on a rifle you may be interested in. I would suggest off the top of my head guys like Marky Mark and Elk11. I know they would be happy to share their thoughts.
Value wise, a second hand custom is likely the best bet in guns.
