Since this thread is supposed to be about this election I figured I'd post some of the UCP platform announcements.

"A re-elected UCP government will create a new 8% bracket on income under $60,000. This means every Alberta earning $60,000 or more will save $760 – that’s over $1,500 per family! Albertans earning less than $60,000 will see a full 20% reduction to their provincial tax bill under this tax cut."

"A re-elected UCP government will also extend the Fuel Tax Holiday until December 31, 2023, saving Albertans 13 cents per a litre at the pump. "

"This commitment to lowering taxes builds on our No Tax Hike Guarantee, the UCP’s pledge to not increase personal or business taxes. We will formalize this guarantee in government by expanding the Taxpayer Protection Act to ensure no future government can increase personal or business taxes without first getting approval from Albertans in a referendum."

"Key Facts:
  • Only months into their mandate, Rachel Notley’s NDP Energy Minister told unemployed Albertans to go to BC for work.
  • Under the NDP, Alberta experienced 13 consecutive quarters of negative interprovincial migration, starting in Q3 of 2015.
  • Statistics Canada has been reporting interprovincial migration numbers since 1961.There is only one other time that Alberta had 13 consecutive quarters of negative interprovincial migration and that was in the early 1980s, under Pierre Trudeau’s National Energy Program.
  • Under the UCP, tens of thousands of Canadians are choosing to move to Alberta and we have had six consecutive months of positive interprovincial migration."

"A re-elected UCP government will introduce:
  • The Alberta is Calling signing bonus. A $1,200 non-refundable tax credit for targeted skilled trades and professions where we have labour shortages – including in healthcare, childcare, and trades. Workers will be eligible after living here for a year.
  • The Graduation Retention Tax Credit. A $3,000-$10,000 tax credit for students in qualified high-demand professions to stay and work in Alberta after graduation.
  • Increase auto-credentialing for in-demand professions. We’ll work with professional bodies to ensure there are no unreasonable barriers to approving credentials and expand auto-credentialling from provinces and countries with similar standards."

You can see the whole plan to diversify the economy in the link below.

“I want to be clear: under the UCP’s Public Health Care Guarantee, we are committing to all Albertans that under no circumstances will any Albertan ever have to pay out-of-pocket to see their family doctor or to get the medical treatment they need,” said UCP Leaders Danielle Smith

"Danielle Smith and the United Conservative Party will ensure all Albertans have access to $10-a-day daycare by 2026."
