Also I’m certain ice doesn’t grow at the same rate throughout any body of water. Wind, snow cover, currents, water composition, lake geography, biosphere, etc.
I’ve wondered how much the number of holes drilled into an area affects ice thickness. It certainly has some effect on the water temperature, yet is likely minimal on most water bodies.
