It has actually been really interesting this year being at different lakes within 75 kms of each other and they have really different snow depths on the lakes. I don't think I have seen it vary this much before. I think it has a lot to do with the wind while it was snowing in the area I am in however I could be totally wrong too.

As said already follow other tracks and only go off of them to fish is that safest bet.
