I have owned at least six 30-06's. All were fine rifles. Except for a Eddystone P17 that was sporterized that I used as a kid. (Worst kicking rifle I ever owned). There is something about the recoil pulse from the 308/30-06 family of cartridges that my body does not like. They have all preformed admirably. I just don't like the cartridges for that reason. I believe the 30-06 and the .270 are still the highest selling factory ammunition cartridges.
