Birth control and abortions were always present in a form or another.
I don't think that people before had so many unwanted children.
Before, children were needed and/or wanted and were affordable for lack of a better word.
Now almost nobody needs kids to help them to work the land or raise cattle so why have them?
Maybe the fact that people are not as religious as they used to plays a role too.
Kids are expensive these days, some of us can barely sustain themselves.
I prefer birth control / abortion versus a homeless addicted criminal.
But yes, the reproduction rate is bad for us.
Sometimes I ask myself (maybe a silly question): if 1billion people decide to get together and cross a border how can they be stopped?
