Hi there, I was able to put my shack on the lake this weekend, ice was twelve inches where we drove on at shore, but once we started to get closer to the middle ice was only about 7 inches, so yes be careful. but we did manage to get a truck on the ice with no problems, Ice is very hard so we went for it, I have spent my whole life on ice so i know quite abit about what you can and cant do.
