I love the .17 HMR and would love to try out the MACH 2 but my old cooey bolt will take all .22 except the mags. as much fun as a semi-auto is lets see the 10/22 shoot .22 shorts.
I suspect with all the CZ lovers on this site that it is indeed a valuable tool to add to any toolbox, but for the price and accuracy you really can't beat the old Canadian made cooey's.
Was going to leave it at that but well, there is the .243 a nice cheep to shoot centerfire that wont bruise a newb's shoulder and shouldn't induce any flinch as long as ear protection is worn. A lot of people move from the .22 up to the .243 as you can now use it to hunt larger than rabbit sized game.
Good luck on the gun hunt lots of good choices out there.
Edit
compared to 10 C/ round the .243 is very expensive. but compared to 10.00/ round for reloaded .50 bmg??????
I work hard for my money but if I can shoot for around $ 1.00 / round I am quite ok with that especially as I don't go to the movies or bars etc. shooting is my recreation
