I had one years ago. It wasn't made by Rapala. I tried it once or twice and that was the end of that. In the garbage it went. It was inaccurate because of line slippage and I found it did cut down on casting distance also. I have not tried one since and rely on the counters on the downriggers for an idea of depth. I have no doubt that the counter you have is probably designed better than the one I tried. I just had a bad experience with the one I bought and won't try them again.
