I've been told by the dealer that the Tacoma hasn't changed much since 2009, just aesthetics. Haven't looked at the 2017 yet, I think they have a newer engine now, still driving my 2010. I bought a Tacoma because they have a reputation of running forever. If she has to have the latest and greatest then have at er but I suggest looking at slightly used. Lots of cash to drive it off the lot
