Until you get a little practice shooting in and it costs you big $ .17 HMR ammo is, IMO prohibitively expensive. Even .22 ammo is getting pricey, but it's still a bargain compared to .17 HMR.
I've shot one, a buddy's, and the red mist gopher is COOL, the closest thing to a .22 centerfire smashing hit I've ever seen, but not quite cool enough for me to lay out the $ for .17 HMR.
Too cheap to pay that for ammo, this is THE PERFECT EXAMPLE of "More bang for the Buck!" .22 LR for me!
