The bolts are capable of bending, but if youre reasonably careful the tool can do the job as is, i went all winter with a couple standard tools without trouble, but tgen demo-ing in our store i bent two in short order. Funny thing was i caught about half my coyotes in supermagnums last winter without bending a bolt.

But, using standard tool as is, you have to ensure the arms are aligned when compressing so the one arm had to be tight against the tool, like arm literally on the nut instead of the threaded portion.

Poundage.... dependant upon whos measuring poundage. Trappers do it a few different ways, science people have their own ways, and then spring manufacturers measure their way.

Poundages of both springs will be similar. One has very long arms compared to other.
