Don't apologize, you are correct. There is a simple TED talk on overpopulation that basically debunks it and shows that the human population will not keep doubling as it has been. Also I believe Joe Rogan in one of his podcasts states that the entire world population could fit in the state of texas with everyone having 100 sqm or something like that. As for reaching our limits for food it isn't even close. Fish farms haven't reached even close to their potential. And there is billions of acres that can be used yet.
