-Carbine length bolt action, at longest 40”, sub 38” even better.
-Short barrel, 20” max, 18” even better.
-I prefer 60 degree bolt throw, offers the ability to mount optics lower.
-I like back up iron sights, though they are difficult to come by on rifles I like.
-TANG SAFETY, love it, right where the thumb sits. Locking the bolt is a plus (3 position).
-Like one other commenter said, proper cheek weld height (shoulder rifle with eyes closed, open shooting eye, perfectly aligned cross hairs).
-Weight in the 7.5-8.5 pound range.
-My latest knit pick is front sling swivel to muzzle distance. I like my muzzle to hang low when I have the rifle slung.
-Detachable mag, must be flush mount for one hand carrying.
-ACCURATE. GOOD TRIGGER.
-Versatile chambering.
-Blued or stainless, doesn’t matter, gets wiped down with rem oil.
-Prefer the look of wood, often go with the toughness of synthetic.

Basically, Browning X bolt, but the forend of the stock could be longer and the front sling swivel could be closer to the muzzle.

Just my short list, hahahaha!
