The wife and I fly quite a bit now and usually we breeze through because we know the drill well.
Today was a bit interesting though. We flew out of Vancouver and when I was "wanded" the wand kept beeping when passed over the outside of my left knee. The security guy asked me three times if I had metal in my knee or leg; my answer was "No". He patted my leg down each time, then I had to go through the full body scanner (or have a more intensive pat down). When I exited the scanner I asked if anything showed up, and the answer was "No," to which I replied, "Told you so." He just shrugged and said, "The equipment does funny things sometimes. Have a nice day, sir."
The point is: they were professional and since I kept my cool it was just a minor inconvenience.
